Be part of the Human Natures Exhibition
HUMAN NATURES is a major new exhibition about people and how we live with nature. Opening later this year at Derby Museum before touring to Manchester Museum, Great North Museum: Hancock, Norfolk Museums and the Horniman Museum in London, it’s your chance to be part of the show.
We’re creating a film about “holes and heaps” the marks humans leave on the land, water, and air. From towering piles of rubbish to deep excavations, every heap and hole tells a story about who we are.
Your challenge:
Film short clips (up to 30 seconds) of the holes and heaps in your local environment.
Optional: Add a short voice note describing what you’ve found.
No animation or AI — just real, thoughtful glimpses of our human impact.
Tips:
You can use a phone, camera, drone, or any device.
Include yourself without showing your face (hands, feet, voice, etc.).
Focus on land, air, or water — slow, steady shots work best.
Selected clips will be part of the exhibition film. Details on how we’ll use your clips are in the link below.
Deadline: Sunday 24 August
Submit your clips and audio via this link (link: https://wkf.ms/46xn81S)
Help us tell the story of how humans are reshaping the planet — one hole, one heap at a time.
